Nationwide Ranking: Tier 4

The Firm: The team at Kirkland & Ellis handles a wide range of matters including transactions, licensing and manufacturing agreements, but attracts particular praise for its prowess in litigation. The firm achieved a victory in the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit for Third Wave Technologies, and for Amgen and affiliated companies in a case involving a patent for the intracellular transcription factor NF-kappaB.

Key Individuals: New York-based Gerald Flattmann is singled out for his outstanding litigation skills. Recent highlights include acting as trial counsel for Alexion in a patent infringement case against PDL Biopharma.
