Best FCPA Lawyers Client Service Awards

Kirkland was awarded top honors in the FCPA Trailblazers category at Main Justice's inaugural Best FCPA Lawyers Client Service Awards. The category recognized firms that pursue creative strategies and handle high-stakes cases for clients without resorting to litigation. Kirkland was honored for both the depth of its practice group's experience and its guidance in high-pressure investigations. Laurence Urgenson and Sam Williamson were individually recognized. Laurence was recognized for his "steady guidance of high pressure investigations," and Sam, a partner in the firm's Shanghai office and a former DOJ white collar supervisor, was recognized as the sole Mandarin-speaking former federal prosecutor working in China on FCPA matters.

Laurence was also honored with a Distinguished Service Award in the FCPA Masters category.

In addition to Laurence (former Acting Deputy Assistant Attorney General and former Chief of the Fraud Section at DOJ) and Sam, Kirkland's FCPA practice group includes partners Mark Filip (former Deputy Attorney General of the United States and a former federal judge), Satnam Tumani (former head of the U.K. Serious Fraud Office's (SFO) Bribery and Corruption and International Assistance Departments, who leads the firm's European anti-corruption practice), Michael Garcia (former U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York), Neil Eggleston (former Deputy White House Counsel and Chief Appellate Attorney for the Southern District of New York), Henry DePippo (former Senior Trial Counsel and Deputy Chief of the Criminal Division in the Southern District of New York), Michael Keats (former Associate General Counsel at Goldman Sachs), William Stuckwisch (former Assistant Chief of the Fraud Section and second-in-command of the FCPA group) and Brigham Cannon (also formerly of the Fraud Section).
