Kirkland Recognized for Transactional Pro Bono Work
Impetus-The Private Equity Foundation (Impetus-PEF), which provides UK charities with management support, pro bono assistance and funding, recently recognized Kirkland for its longtime pro bono commitment to the organization’s portfolio of charities.
As one of Impetus-PEF’s first legal partners, Kirkland has been providing pro bono assistance to Impetus-PEF’s portfolio charities since 2007. The Firm has donated more than £670,000 to Impetus-PEF, and about 55 Kirkland employees have worked on approximately 40 charity projects, contributed to social investment programs and served as committee members. In 2013, Kirkland contributed 422 pro bono hours to Impetus-PEF and its portfolio charities.
Kirkland was nominated for the Pro Bono Project of Year at Impetus-PEF’s 2014 Transforming Lives Awards. A Kirkland team was recognized for transactional pro bono work for IntoUniversity, a charity that provides academic support for disadvantaged students.
