The Deal Awards 2019

The Deal honored Kirkland & Ellis with five awards at the annual Deal Awards.

Kirkland was named “Healthcare & Pharma Law Firm of the Year,” and M&A/Private Equity partner Daniel Wolf was named “Dealmaker of the Year.” Daniel was honored as the leading deal adviser (lawyer or banker) in the U.S., based on both quality and volume of transactions.

Kirkland was also awarded “Restructuring Deal of the Year” for its work on behalf of Seadrill as the company resolved dueling reorganization plans. Meanwhile, CVS Health Corporation’s $69 billion acquisition of Aetna, Inc. was named both “Deal of the Year” and “Healthcare & Pharma Deal of the Year.” Kirkland advised Centerview Partners, which provided financial advice to the CVS Health Board of Directors as part of the transaction.  

The second annual awards program hosted by The Deal recognizes the advisors and service providers who power the deal economy. Honorees were selected based on peer nominations and interviews with analysts and experts.
