Kirkland Recognized with Houston Volunteer Lawyers Pro Bono Award

Houston Volunteer Lawyers (HVL) named Kirkland a recipient of the HVL Pro Bono Award – Large Firm for its contributions to HVL and pro bono work in the greater Houston area in 2024.

Over the past year, 115 Kirkland attorneys worked on nearly 50 pro bono matters with HVL, representing low-income families on a variety of legal needs, including adoption, adult guardianship petitions, naturalization, veteran discharge upgrades, divorce, record expungement and affidavits of heirship.

Kirkland is committed to providing legal services without charge to those who cannot afford counsel, with the goals of improving clients’ lives, bettering communities and deepening our own professional experience. We staff and support pro bono work with the same enthusiasm and resources that we devote to our billable work.
