Partner Mark Holscher Earns “Distinguished Counsel” Honor from the Daily Journal
The Daily Journal selected Kirkland partner Mark Holscher for its prestigious “Distinguished Counsel” list, recognizing Mark’s 17 years as one of “California’s Top 100 Lawyers.”
As a nationally recognized trial attorney, Mark is a Fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers and the International Academy of Trial Lawyers. For over ten years, Chambers USA has ranked Mark in Band 1 for Commercial Litigation and is also ranked in White-Collar Crime & Government Investigations, commenting that he is an “ extraordinary trial lawyer” and a “very smart, knowledgeable and strategic” litigator who’s “really good at handling a case successfully and pushing forward a case of a large magnitude.”
The inaugural “Distinguished Counsel” list recognizes a small group of the most accomplished lawyers in California over the last twenty years. Mark, a commercial litigator in the Firm’s Los Angeles office, has obtained plaintiffs verdicts and settlements of over $1.4 billion, with multiple nine-figure recoveries. He has also successfully defended clients against multiple claims more than a billion dollars. Mark’s background as a former Assistant U.S. Attorney, coupled with his successful civil trial record, has established him as a “go to” trial lawyer for companies and individuals facing significant litigation. Mark has also notably obtained four dismissals of federal criminal matters in multiple districts, one of the few litigators in the country to have done so. He regularly makes pre-indictment presentations that have convinced the Department of Justice not to bring charges.
