Partners Lauren Falk and Kevin Frank Named Distinguished Volunteers by Chicago Volunteer Legal Services

Chicago Volunteer Legal Services (CVLS) honored Kirkland partners Lauren Falk and Kevin Frank as distinguished volunteers for their pro bono service on behalf of low-income clients. Lauren and Kevin were recognized for their contributions to CVLS’s Minor Guardian ad Litem (GAL) Program, which ensures children in legal cases have a lawyer who can advocate for their best interests.

In May 2025, Lauren and Kevin launched a GAL initiative in Kirkland’s Chicago office designed to build internal support and mentorship for attorneys taking on these important matters. GAL cases often present unique challenges that fall outside typical practice areas, and the initiative addresses that gap by convening monthly meetings for attorneys to discuss challenges, share tips and exchange insights. In the year since Kirkland’s GAL initiative launched, the team has supported 20 active minor GAL cases, backed by the strength of Lauren and Kevin’s leadership and the initiative’s collaborative framework.
