State High Court Upholds $15 Million Injury Award

Kirkland partner Douglas Kurtenbach was part of a trial team that represented Jerry Kuhns, a California man who was paralyzed in a freeway accident.

"The state Supreme Court on Monday let stand a $ 15.2 million judgment awarded to a man paralyzed when his car was crushed by a load of Miracle Whip salad dressing falling from a freeway overpass.

'It's the largest verdict ever upheld against the state,' said attorney Neil Bahan of San Clemente, who with partner Alton Smith represented Kuhns."
