The London office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP added its final missing piece of UK law capability when it hired tax partner Ian Taplin from PricewaterhouseCoopers. Taplin, a trained barrister and chartered accountant, was one of the leading tax structuring partners of PwC's M&A group. Taplin joins Kirkland as the firm's fourth UK qualified partner.
"Ian is a very high quality person who is well known particularly in the private equity area, which is very important for us," said Stuart Mills, founding partner of Kirkland's London office.
