Michael Jones began mentoring Washington D.C. high school students years ago. Now, two students that he met through the program, Mentors Inc., are summer associates at Kirkland & Ellis and about to graduate from two of the best law schools in the country.
Diarra McKinney, who will graduate from Yale Law School next year, is in the D.C. office with Jones. His younger brother Malachi, who is a student at Stanford Law School, is in the San Francisco office. Although Jones is not currently mentoring, he said that he would like to start again with his work on the diversity committee.
