Jury Awards $52 Million to Siemens Unit in Scanner Case
Kirkland client Siemens was awarded $52.3 million in damages by a federal jury in their case against Cie. de Saint-Gobain. The jury found that a Siemens patent covering technology used in medical imaging scanners was infringed.
" 'The jury recognized the innovation behind Siemens' industry-leading medical-imaging equipment. The jury's decision to award over $50 million for Saint-Gobain's infringement confirms our belief in the value of that technology and makes the hard work and team effort behind this victory all the more worthwhile,' said Gregg LoCascio, an attorney representing Siemens."
