Tafas Fights Bid to Nix Ruling on USPTO Rules

After Kirkland client GlaxoSmithKline and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office filed a motion to dismiss the case and for vacatur, inventor Triantafyllos Tafas filed a reply that agreed it was appropriate to dismiss the appeal, but objected to the request to vacate the district court's judgment.

"F. Christopher Mizzo of Kirkland & Ellis LLP, who represents Glaxo, said his client was happy that Tafas agreed that the USPTO's decision to withdraw the rules mooted the appeal and warranted the dismissal, but declined to comment further."
