Symantec Sells Website Security Unit to Thoma Bravo's DigiCert

"Symantec Corp. (SYMC) sold its website security and related businesses to Thoma Bravo portfolio company DigiCert Inc. for $950 million in cash and a roughly 30% stake in the post-merger company.

Kirkland & Ellis LLP is counsel to the buyers. The team includes corporate partners Gerald Nowak and Corey Fox and associates Peter Stach, Amelia Runyan Davis, Mackenzie Drutowski and Justin Joffe, technology and IP transactions partners Seth Traxler, Daniel Lewis and Edward Sadtler, and debt finance partners Francesco Penati and Amy Peters."
