Black IP Lawyers Who’ve Made It Look to Grow Ranks Beyond 1.7%

Kirkland partner Ellisen Turner is quoted in a Bloomberg Law article regarding the rarity of Black intellectual property lawyers in the United States.

Ellisen discusses his experience as a Black patent lawyer, and the lack of a pipeline of Black attorneys in the IP space.

“Having people ahead of you who look like you and know what you’ve been through, and can be the champions of your success, can be critically important,” Turner said. “That lack of a pipeline of Black attorneys in this practice area certainly hurts.”
