News Analysis: The ‘Last Owners’ of Natural Gas Assets?
Kirkland partners Matt Nardworny and Kevin Crews spoke with Inframation News regarding investments in natural gas assets.
“I am not sure that traditional private equity investors are going to spend significant capital on a business expecting that they would be the last owner of the business, in so far as that would mean that there would be no other potential buyers of the business,” says Kevin Crews, a partner at Kirkland & Ellis.
…Matt Nadworny, a Houston-based partner at Kirkland, says that the days of clients making an oil and gas investment in order to prove a thesis, then flipping the asset to a private equity fund after a three-to-five-year hold period are likely over.
