Litigator of the Week Runners-Up and Shout Outs

Craig Primis, Mike Slade and Ronald Anguas received a shout out for The American Lawyer Litigation Daily’s “Litigator of the Week” contest for their work for Boeing.

... Shout out to Craig Primis, Mike Slade and Ronald Anguas of Kirkland & Ellis. U.S. District Judge Steven Seeger in Chicago this week dismissed a class action brought on behalf of pilots who sued Boeing after the grounding of the 737 MAX. The judge found a lack of proximate cause between Boeing’s alleged concealment of the problems that grounded the fleet and the lost wages the pilots claimed from reduced flying time. “Sometimes bad things happen to other people, and it affects you too, in a roundabout, indirect, downstream way,” Seeger wrote. “That’s life. That’s not a claim.”
