At the annual Legal Marketing Association (LMA) conference recently held in Toronto, Canada, the LMA awarded its prestigious YOUR HONOR award to Kirkland & Ellis and Hubbard One for the technology and creative elements of Kirkland's Web site. This award spotlights the most impressive and effective technology-driven promotional pieces created this year and showcases LMA member firms' top contributions to law firm marketing.
The creation of Kirkland's award-winning site began with well-defined objectives for developing:
- an online strategy that would enable Kirkland to channel vital information to recruits, clients and other visitors;
- an intuitive and aesthetically pleasing site that accurately depicts Kirkland's unique culture; and
- a site that conveys that Kirkland is in step with the latest technologies.
Kirkland worked closely with its creative ally, Hubbard One, to develop a robust site that includes an impressive range of interactive and customized features. For example, the site's recruiting section is architected so that law student visitors are automatically exposed to customized content specific to their law school. From a visual perspective, the original creative for the site was designed with the use of multimedia, including flash technology to interactively animate home page navigation and video testimonials. From a content perspective, timely information on practice areas and people is regularly uploaded to keep visitors well informed of the Firm's happenings.
