Kirkland & Ellis LLP partner Kevin R. Evanich was recognized by legal publisher Chambers & Partners with an Award for Excellence in Private Equity at the Chambers USA Awards for Excellence dinner in New York on June 1, 2006.

"Kevin Evanich is an outstanding member of Kirkland's private equity practice and the consummate partner. He is a dedicated lawyer, mentor, trainer, and long-term member of Kirkland's management committee," said Thomas Yannucci, Kirkland partner and Chair of the Firm's Management Committee. "We are privileged to call Kevin our partner and salute him for winning this honor."

Described by Chambers & Partners as a "first-class practitioner," Mr. Evanich is a senior member of Kirkland's corporate practice group, concentrating in mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts and private equity fund formations.

Mr. Evanich joined Kirkland & Ellis in 1983 and became partner in 1986. Throughout his career, Mr. Evanich has been recognized as a leader in the private equity field by numerous organizations. In its 2006 guide, America's Leading Lawyers for Business, Chambers & Partners described Mr. Evanich as "a current leading light in the private equity world," he is a "forceful man who endeavors to pin every point down." Additionally, in the 2005 guide, Chambers said that Mr. Evanich "attracts admiration from rivals who hold him to be at the top of his game."

"I am honored to be recognized by both Chambers & Partners and my peers," said Mr. Evanich. "Of course, I could not have achieved this success if not for the outstanding lawyers at Kirkland & Ellis, and the dedicated team that I work with each day."

"Attorneys are ranked by the merits outlined by their clients," said Fiona Boxall, managing editor of Chambers & Partners. "The Awards for Excellence are given to outstanding individuals in numerous categories, and are based on supplemental research obtained from the lawyers and their clients that took into account their work in the past year." Ms. Boxall continued to say, "Their stars have shown brightly for the last year as they have demonstrated top-tier legal skill and dedication to providing the highest possible level of client service."
