Robert Scheibe Joins Kirkland & Ellis LLP
Kirkland & Ellis LLP is pleased to announce that Robert H. Scheibe has joined the Firm as of counsel in its New York office. Mr. Scheibe has represented financial institutions in restructuring and bankruptcy matters for more than 35 years. He will serve as a key advisor to clients in financing and restructuring matters.

Mr. Scheibe joins Kirkland after practicing with Morgan Lewis in New York for more than 10 years, where he was a partner and member of the firm's Financial Restructuring Practice. He frequently acted as counsel for JP Morgan Chase Bank as debtor-in-possession lender, including in the Chapter 11 cases of United Airlines, Tower Automotive, Kmart Corporation, World Kitchen Inc., LTV Steel Corporation, Polaroid Corporation, Burlington Industries Inc., Bruno's Inc., Paragon Trade Brands Inc., Marvel Entertainment Inc., The Caldor Corporation, Armstrong World Industries Inc., Harnischfeger Industries Inc., Barneys Inc. and others. He has also frequently acted as counsel to Wachovia Bank and other institutions.
Mr. Scheibe is a fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy. He has been recognized as a leading attorney by numerous publications including Chambers USA, America's Leading Lawyers for Business and The Best Lawyers in America. According to Chambers, clients described him as "a real expert in DIP financing," "a thoughtful and sound" practitioner and "an incredible draftsman."

Mr. Scheibe holds a law degree from Georgetown University Law Center and a bachelor of arts degree from Hobart College.
