Kirkland & Ellis Adds Transactional Tax Lawyer in Hong Kong
Kirkland & Ellis International LLP announced today that transactional tax lawyer Angela Russo has joined the Firm's Hong Kong office.
"Angela has advised on many complex cross-border deals and adds serious firepower to our M&A and funds teams in the time zone," said David Patrick Eich, a Kirkland private equity partner in Hong Kong. "She is energetic, creative and commercial, giving us a unique resource for Asia-based financial sponsors," Eich said.
Ms. Russo has advised on leveraged buyouts and other complex transactions ranging from several million dollars to several billion dollars for private equity firms such as Bain Capital, Silver Lake Partners and Sun Capital Partners, and corporations such as Molson Coors, RoundTable Healthcare Partners and S.C. Johnson & Son, Inc. The American Lawyer has recognized Ms. Russo for her representation of Molson Coors in its joint venture with SABMiller.
Ms. Russo, a graduate of the University of Chicago Law School and Dartmouth College, has a wide variety of tax experience, having represented clients on domestic and cross-border mergers, acquisitions and leveraged buyouts, joint ventures, recapitalizations, and debt and equity restructurings. She has also advised on the tax aspects of securities issuances, bankruptcy and restructuring transactions, and private equity fund formations.
