Kirkland & Ellis LLP Expands Houston Office with Addition of Leading Attorneys William Bos and Anthony Speier

Kirkland & Ellis LLP announced today that it has expanded its Houston office with the addition of leading transactional lawyers William W. Bos and Anthony H. Speier III. Kirkland opened the Houston office in April with the hire of prominent M&A partner Andy Calder.

“Will and Anthony are highly respected attorneys with significant experience on complex transactions in the energy sector, and we are excited to add them to the dynamic team we have assembled in Houston,” said Jeffrey C. Hammes, Chairman of Kirkland’s Global Management Executive Committee.

Mr. Bos joins Kirkland from the Houston office of Vinson & Elkins LLP. He represents borrowers, private equity funds, hedge funds, mezzanine funds and other institutions in commercial lending and financial transactions, including acquisition finance, primarily in the energy sector.

Mr. Bos has been recognized as a leading lawyer by Chambers USA and Super Lawyers. He holds a J.D. from The University of Virginia School of Law, an M.A. from The Johns Hopkins University and a B.A. from The University of Vermont.

Mr. Speier joins Kirkland from the Houston office of Baker Botts L.L.P. He focuses on acquisitions, divestitures and formation of joint ventures involving energy assets, with a particular emphasis on asset level oil and gas onshore and deepwater offshore transactions. His work has involved a broad range of energy assets, including upstream and midstream oil and gas assets and companies, crude oil refineries, LNG facilities and specialty chemicals businesses.

Mr. Speier has been recognized as a rising star by Chambers USA and Super Lawyers. He holds a J.D. from Tulane University Law School and a B.A. from Tulane University.
