Kirkland & Ellis Advises Capital International on Didi Kuaidi Fundraising

Kirkland & Ellis is representing Capital International Private Equity Funds as the lead investor in a fundraising round by Didi Kuaidi, the leading taxi-hailing platform in China. With US$2 billion of total commitments from investors this is the largest private fund raising in the world this year to date.

Didi Kuaidi, formed by the merger of Didi Dache and Kuaidi Dache in February this year, operates in over 350 Chinese cities and the company’s taxi apps have been downloaded by more than 170 million users.

The Kirkland team on this matter was led by Hong Kong corporate partner Gary Li and associates Henry Yin and Chelsea Xuan and included Hong Kong corporate partner Pierre Arsenault,  Chicago tax partner Mike Carew,  Chicago employee benefits partner Laura Bader and Shanghai litigation partner Tiana Zhang.
