Kirkland Advises Bain on Sale of Brakes Group to Sysco
Kirkland & Ellis represented Bain Capital on the financing aspects of its sale of Brakes Group, the London-based food supplier, to North American marketer and distributor of foodservice products Sysco for approximately US$3.1billion. Kirkland acted for Bain on its GBP1.4 billion leveraged buyout of Brakes from Clayton, Dubliner & Rice Inc in 2007 and has subsequently advised the portfolio company on its acquisition of the Davigel Group, its joint venture with Fresh Direct and a number of refinancings.
