Kirkland Represents SVPGlobal on Purchase of Food Ingredient and Ethanol Businesses from White Energy

Kirkland & Ellis advised Strategic Value Partners, LLC and its affiliates (“SVPGlobal”), a global investment firm, on its agreement to purchase the food ingredient and ethanol businesses from White Energy. The purchase includes two integrated plants in Russell, Kansas: the nation’s largest vital wheat gluten manufacturing facility and one of the nation’s most cost-efficient ethanol production facilities. White Energy, headquartered in Plano, is one of the nation’s leading producers of biofuels, animal feed and food ingredients, with the capacity to produce approximately 300 million gallons of ethanol per year. Financial details of the agreement are confidential, and the transaction is expected to close within 45 days.
