Kirkland Represents Smart & Final in $1.12 Billion Acquisition by Apollo Global Management

Kirkland & Ellis advised Smart & Final Stores, Inc. (NYSE: SFS), a leading value-oriented food and everyday staples retailer, on its definitive merger agreement with funds managed by affiliates of Apollo Global Management, LLC (NYSE: APO), a leading global alternative investment manager. Pursuant to the agreement, Apollo Funds will acquire all of the outstanding shares of Smart & Final’s common stock for $6.50 per share in cash, representing a total valuation of $1.12 billion.
