Kirkland Advises Lenders on Amendment and Upsizing for Bayonne Energy Center

Kirkland & Ellis LLP advised lenders, led by Investec Bank, on the upsizing and amendment of its $565 million mini-perm credit facility for the 644MW Bayonne Energy Center gas-fired power project in New Jersey.  The simple-cycle duel fuel power plant is connected to the New York City power market via a cable running under New York Harbor to a substation in Brooklyn, N.Y. Morgan Stanley Infrastructure Partners acquired the Bayonne Energy Center project from Macquarie Infrastructure Corp in October 2018, and Kirkland previously represented lenders in connection with the existing credit facility.

The Kirkland team was led by debt finance partner Rohit Chaudhry and associates Mateo Todd Aceves and Maulin Shah, with assistance from energy regulatory partner Bob Fleishman and of counsel Nicholas Gladd.
