Press Release

Kirkland Adds Trial Lawyer Jeremy Fielding in Dallas

Kirkland & Ellis LLP is pleased to announce that Jeremy Fielding has joined the Firm’s Dallas office as a litigation partner.

“Jeremy brings top-notch trial and litigation experience to our Texas offices, where we have seen increased demand for elite litigators as we have grown in both Dallas and Houston,” said Jeffrey C. Hammes, Chairman of Kirkland’s Global Management Executive Committee.

Mr. Fielding focuses on complex commercial litigation and trials, trying cases in state and federal courts and arbitrations across the country. He has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in disputes focusing on a range of complex business and energy litigation.

He regularly represents clients in large, bet-the-company commercial cases, obtaining numerous successful jury verdicts and settlements, including a multi-hundred-million-dollar jury verdict in favor of his client, Energy Transfer Partners. The verdict, following a five-week trial, was the largest ever in Dallas County.

“Jeremy will make an immediate, positive impact on our litigation practice, expanding our capacity to assist clients with complex matters in Texas and nationally,” said Mark Filip, a litigation partner and member of Kirkland’s Global Management Executive Committee. “Some of his biggest successes have come representing plaintiffs in sophisticated, high-dollar business disputes. So we expect he’ll also play an important role in helping Kirkland become a market leader in representing clients through creative fee arrangements on the plaintiff side.”

“Since we opened our Dallas office in 2018, we have seen the need for someone with Jeremy’s litigation experience to work from here and assist our Texas litigators,” said Andy Calder, a corporate partner in Kirkland’s Houston office and member of the Firm’s Global Management Executive Committee. “His experience trying and winning cases in arbitration, and at the state and federal levels will serve our clients well, and I am very excited that he has joined our platform.”

D Magazine recognized Mr. Fielding as one of the “Best Lawyers in Dallas.” He was listed as a “Litigation Star” by Benchmark Litigation and honored as an “Up-and-Coming” lawyer for general commercial litigation in Texas by Chambers USA. He was also recognized as a “Texas Super Lawyer” by Thomson Reuters.

Mr. Fielding was previously a partner at the trial boutique of Lynn, Pinker, Cox & Hurst and before that, a law clerk to the Honorable E. Grady Jolly of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and a litigator at Baker Botts. He earned degrees from Harvard Law School, where he was the executive editor of the Harvard Journal of Law and Public Policy, and Brigham Young University.
