Kirkland & Ellis advised Eastern Bell Capital, a fund manager focused on supply chain and logistics sectors in Greater China, on the successful closing of its second USD fund, Eastern Bell Fund II. The fund held its final closing with aggregate commitments of $800 million, exceeding its original hard cap. The fund’s investor base include prestigious global sovereign wealth funds, pension funds, insurers, corporates, family offices and fund of funds.
The Kirkland team was led by investment funds partner Carol Liu and investment fund legal manager Ling Zhu, and included investment funds transaction manager Xinnuo Zhao. The team also included investment funds partners Joshua Westerholm, Michael Chu and Romin Dabir, tax partner Alec Campbell and associate Kyle Litfin, employee benefits partners Liz Dyer and Erica Rozow, and capital markets partner Paul Zier.
