Kirkland & Ellis announced today that leading antitrust lawyer Maria Raptis has joined the Firm as a partner.

Ballis, Chairman of Kirkland’s Executive Committee. “Her addition strengthens our market-leading antitrust team, and she’s poised to make an immediate impact for our clients.”

Ms. Raptis advises on the antitrust aspects of mergers and acquisitions. She also has substantial experience litigating antitrust cases. She represents clients before the Federal Trade Commission and U.S. Department of Justice across multiple industries, including healthcare and pharmaceuticals, technology, consumer products, financial services, entertainment and manufacturing.

“The skill Maria brings to leading complex merger clearance and other antitrust matters will be a tremendous asset to clients navigating an increasingly sophisticated enforcement environment,” said Kirkland antitrust and competition partner Matt Reilly. “We’re excited to welcome her to the team.”

Ms. Raptis has been recognized as a leading antitrust attorney by Chambers USA, MergerLinks and Lawdragon. She joins Kirkland from Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, where she was a partner.

“Kirkland’s exceptional transactional and litigation platforms — along with its top-tier antitrust team — were key factors in my decision to take this next step in my career,” said Ms. Raptis. “I look forward to contributing to its continued success.”
