Kirkland Advises U.S. Internet on Sale to Metronet
Kirkland & Ellis advised U.S. Internet, a pure-play fiber company offering residential and commercial internet services in the greater Minneapolis area, in connection with its sale to Metronet, a provider of fiber-optic telecommunication services. The transaction was announced on September 2, 2025, shortly after Metronet was acquired by a joint venture between T-Mobile and KKR. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
The Kirkland team included corporate lawyers Kemal Hawa, Chris Turek and Joseph Kunnirickal; debt finance lawyer Lucas Spivey; and tax lawyer Mark Dundon.
