Kirkland Welcomes Leading Tax Lawyer Jonathan Macke
Kirkland & Ellis announced today that Jonathan Macke has joined the Firm as a partner in the Tax Practice Group.
“Jonathan is an accomplished tax lawyer with deep experience leading the tax aspects of complex transactions and investment funds matters,” said Jon A. Ballis, Chairman of Kirkland’s Executive Committee. “We’re very excited to welcome him to our leading tax team.”
Mr. Macke advises on the tax aspects of corporate transactions, including domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and financing transactions. He also advises on transactions involving partnerships and other pass-through entities, and represents sponsor and investor clients on private investment funds matters.
Prior to joining Kirkland, Mr. Macke was a partner at Weil, Gotshal & Manges where he served as co-managing partner of its Dallas office. He has been recognized as a top tax lawyer by ITR World Tax, Super Lawyers, Best Lawyers in America, Turnarounds & Workouts and Lawdragon. In 2017, he was named to Dallas Business Journal’s “40 Under 40” list.
