Kirkland Advises HF Capital on $875 Million Sale of Power and Renewable Fuels Assets to Ara Energy

Kirkland & Ellis advised HF Capital on the sale of Gate City Power and Gate City Renewable Fuels to Ara Partners in a transaction valued at approximately $875 million. These transactions are expected to close in early 2026, subject to receipt of required regulatory approvals and customary conditions. Gate City Power owns thermal generation assets across NYISO and ISO NE totaling ~2.2 gigawatts of capacity and Gate City Renewable Fuels owns U.S. ethanol production assets totaling ~400 million gallons per year.
