Kirkland Advises HYROX Founders on Partnership with L Catterton-led Consortium

Kirkland & Ellis has advised the founders of hybrid racing brand HYROX, Christian Toetzke and Moritz Fuerste, in connection with their partnership with a consortium led by L Catterton to acquire a majority stake in HYROX from Infront Sports & Media AG.

As part of the transaction, the founders will regain majority control of the brand they founded in 2017.

HYROX has established itself as a leading global hybrid racing brand and is driving toward Olympic recognition. The company has built a unique race format combining running with functional workout stations, in which participants run 1 km followed by one functional workout station, repeated eight times.

The Kirkland team included corporate lawyers Benjamin Leyendecker, Sebastian Pitz, Merih Altay, Moritz Evertz, Mattias Prange, Henrik Kilian, Konstantin Huber, Sabrina Seitz and Felix Spehl; tax lawyer Tim Nobereit; and debt finance lawyer Vanessa Xu.
