Tax Year in Review 2004


David Handler, a partner at Kirkland & Ellis, sums up the tax year for 2004 in this supplement to Trusts & Estates magazine.   His analysis of pertinent issues includes sections on Family Limited Partnerships, Generation Skipping Transfer Tax, Marital Deduction, S Corporations, Valuation, Grantor Trusts, Estate Inclusion, Life Insurance, and Charitable Deductions.  Overall, Handler reports that 2004 was marked by clarification on these issues by the Internal Revenue Service creating a smoother, but still complicated, environment for planning.
