Overview

Joseph Schroeder is a litigation partner in the Washington, D.C., office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. He has experience drafting dispositive motions, briefs in opposition to class certification, and appellate briefs in complex consumer, antitrust, mass-tort, and ERISA actions.

Before joining Kirkland, Joseph served as a Bristow Fellow in the Office of the Solicitor General, where he assisted the United States government in matters pending before the Supreme Court, and defended a criminal conviction at oral argument before the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. Joseph is a former clerk to Judge J. Harvie Wilkinson of the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, and an alumnus of the University of Chicago Law School, where he graduated with highest honors.
