Kirkland & Ellis Receives 100 Percent Score on HRC’s 2013 Corporate Equality Index

Kirkland & Ellis LLP received a 100 percent score on the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) 2013 Corporate Equality Index (CEI) survey. This is the sixth year in a row that the Firm received a 100 percent score on the survey.

HRC is the largest civil rights organization working to achieve equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) individuals. The CEI report, released each fall, provides an in-depth analysis and rating of large U.S. employers and their policies and practices pertinent to LGBT employees. It is the premiere national benchmark for LGBT workplace inclusion. Businesses that receive 100 percent scores are recognized as "Best Places to Work for LGBT Equality" and are considered among the most inclusive and fair-minded in their industry.

"We are proud that HRC continues to recognize the Firm's commitment to diversity and has named us to the Best Places to Work list," said Kirkland partner Elizabeth Deeley, co-chair of the Firmwide Diversity Committee's LGBT Subcommittee. "We believe a work environment that is welcoming to all employees helps us more effectively serve our broad and varied client base."

The 2013 Corporate Equality Index rated a total of 889 businesses, including the entire Fortune 500. A full copy of the report and all ratings can be found at www.hrc.org/cei.
