Kirkland Counsels SunEdison on Agreement to Acquire Vivint Solar for $2.2B

Kirkland & Ellis LLP advised SunEdison, Inc. (NYSE: SUNE), the world’s largest renewable energy development company, in connection with its acquisition of Vivint Solar, Inc. (NYSE: VSLR), a leading provider of residential solar systems in the United States, for approximately $2.2 billion, payable in a combination of cash, shares of SunEdison common stock and SunEdison convertible notes.  The parties announced the execution of a definitive merger agreement for this transaction today.  The complete press release can be found here.
