Nicola Dagg Joins London Office of Kirkland

Kirkland & Ellis announced today that leading intellectual property lawyer Nicola Dagg will join the Firm’s London office as a partner.

Ms. Dagg brings more than 20 years of experience handling complex intellectual property disputes and advisory work. Her international practice focuses on patent litigation and breach of confidence disputes. She has particular experience in dealing with the legal and commercial aspects of highly scientific and technologically advanced matters.

“Nicola is one of the leading lights of the UK intellectual property community,” said Jeffrey C. Hammes, Chairman of Kirkland’s Global Management Executive Committee. “Her arrival expands our Europe-based talent in our market-leading global IP practice and we are thrilled to have her join us. Her experience is quite complementary to our existing practice and will be particularly useful to our life sciences and technology clients as they defend their intellectual property around the world.”

“Nicola has led some of the most high-profile, high-value European patent litigation cases. She has tremendous experience and we look forward to integrating her into our global intellectual property practice,” said Greg Arovas, an intellectual property partner and member of Kirkland’s Global Management Executive Committee.

Chambers UK ranks Ms. Dagg as a Band 1 attorney for Patent Litigation and for Life Sciences: IP/Patent Litigation (2018), noting that she is “obviously excellent,” “brilliant with clients,” and possesses “fantastic commercial judgement.” She is also rated as a “leading individual” for intellectual property by The Legal 500 UK (2017), which calls her a “fantastic rainmaker with a large following.” She has an individual gold ranking in IAM Patent 1000.

Ms. Dagg will join Kirkland from the London office of Allen & Overy where until recently she served as the global head of intellectual property. She was formerly a partner with Hogan Lovells. She holds degrees from the University of Cambridge and the University of Bristol. She also previously served as Deputy Reporter General of AIPPI International.
