Overview

Dr. Dipti Deshpande is a scientific advisor with Kirkland & Ellis LLP. Dr. Deshpande is a pharmacist from India and holds an M.S. and a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Northeastern University. Her Ph.D. research focused on the use of a lipid-based nanoemulsion system for the treatment of cardiovascular disease. Her research experience includes a postdoctoral fellowship at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Oncology. Prior to joining the Firm in 2018, Dr. Deshpande worked as a research director at Woodland Biosciences, a preclinical CRO where she developed research programs in the areas of liver and metabolic diseases. She has led cross-functional teams and designed preclinical studies for multiple pharmaceutical clients to help advance their proprietary candidates into additional in vivo testing for the treatment of cancer, liver and metabolic diseases. Dr. Deshpande has published research articles in various peer-reviewed journals in the fields of nanomedicine, cancer biology and drug discovery. At Kirkland, Dr. Deshpande actively provides scientific support in litigation and diligence matters involving biologics, small molecule drugs, medical devices and biotechnology.
