The open assignment system is one of the things I like most about Kirkland. I get to work on the matters I’m interested in, with the people I want to work with.

Culture

Kirkland’s culture is exciting and collaborative. You're constantly presented with great opportunities. I started at Kirkland on a Monday, had IT training on Tuesday and on Wednesday, a partner walked into my office and asked me to be the point person on a team for a multibillion-dollar client.

Training

I enjoy taking Kirkland University’s classes on topics that relate specifically to issues seen in practice. Our training programs aren’t just focused on theoretical concepts — they’re tailored to the actual work that we do.

Opportunities

The open assignment system is one of the things I like most about Kirkland. I get to work on matters I’m interested in, with the people I want to work with. I have control over my career.

Experience

My first day out of training, I became involved in a large transaction that entailed a type of work the Firm hadn't done for the client before. Because of our team’s performance, the client has since engaged us for all of its related work and continues to expand its relationship with the Firm.

Growth

On my second day out of training, I was on a call with the general counsel of an international private equity fund. Because we’ve had so much direct interaction, that general counsel still calls me with questions on other deals. I’ve grown into being the point person on projects, whether it's handling key documents for a deal or walking clients through questions.
