Culture

Kirkland’s culture creates a collaborative environment for attorneys to step out of their comfort zone and showcase their entrepreneurial spirit. We are always working as a team and constantly pushing each other to be the best versions of ourselves, both professionally and personally.

Opportunities

One of the most significant aspects of my early career at Kirkland has been the frequency with which I’ve had the opportunity to appear in court. I’ll never forget the first time I spoke in court as a third-year associate. It was something I wanted to do, and the partners recognized that and presented me with the opportunity. They even spent the night before the hearing coaching me to ensure I was prepared. I remember feeling incredibly lucky to have partners so invested in me and my career.

Over the past several years, I’ve had many opportunities to speak in a courtroom. Each time, I’m reminded that it’s the result of a team effort, and I’m always thankful that the team is right behind me in support.

Summer Associate

Being a summer associate and building relationships with my colleagues across the Firm was an incredibly valuable experience that ultimately shaped my decision to return to Kirkland. It gave me a clear sense of how closely everyone works together, and those early connections created a strong foundation that has only strengthened over time.

Training

At Kirkland, we are constantly offered formal training exercises, and informal training happens daily. We regularly take calls together in each other’s offices and debrief afterward, which gives opportunities for constructive feedback and discussion. This type of collaboration makes it easy to learn from one another and helps us continue to grow as professionals.
