Copyright, Trademark & Internet Symposium
Please join us for our first annual Copyright, Trademark & Internet Symposium, hosted by Dale Cendali, Claudia Ray and Diana Torres. This year, the program will be held in Los Angeles on Tuesday, April 13, 2010, in New York on Wednesday, April 21, and in San Francisco on Wednesday, April 28, 2010. The program will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., immediately followed by a cocktail and networking reception.
This seminar has been approved for 3.0 professional practice and 0.5 ethics CLE credits by the New York State CLE Board and for 2.5 general and 0.5 legal ethics CLE credits by the State Bar of California. Recent developments in copyright fair use, including a discussion of Salinger v. Colting, and the recent reversal in Gaylord v. United States.
Trademark Developments
2:45 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Overview of recent developments in trademark law, including a discussion of recent cases involving trademark surveys and trademark dilution.
Internet Developments
3:30 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
New challenges, including third party apps and paying for content, the Google Book settlement, and international jurisdictional issues.
Challenging False Advertising
4:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
A discussion of the various forums in which false advertising can be challenged, including the federal courts, the National Advertising Division of the Council of Better Business Bureaus, and various state and federal regulatory agencies, as well as the pros and cons of each alternative.
Ethics

Ethical issues in the IP context.
