Overview

Amelia Bailey is a litigation partner in the Chicago office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. Amelia’s practice focuses on mass and class action litigation, specifically data privacy litigation, products liability, and antitrust and competition matters. She has a broad range of litigation experience, spanning the technology, pharmaceutical and retail industries. She has litigated cases at both the trial and appellate stages in various state and federal courts.

Amelia has twice been named to Lawdragon’s “500 X – The Next Generation” (2024 & 2025), and has been chosen as a “Rising Star” by Illinois Super Lawyers for 2024 and 2025. In her data privacy practice, Amelia’s Seventh Circuit win on an issue of first impression in a class action under the Genetic Information Privacy Act was highlighted in the National Law Journal and recognized by The American Lawyer in its “Litigator of the Week” series.

Amelia also actively participates in Firm committees, diversity initiatives and recruiting efforts. She is the former co-chair of the Firm’s Associates Committee for the Chicago office. She has represented numerous pro bono clients, and is currently serving as co-counsel, along with the ACLU of Illinois, for prisoners in a class action challenging their treatment within the Illinois prison system.
