Katie Benfield is a litigation partner in the Austin office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. Katie defends consumer product, technology and pharmaceutical companies in litigation in state and federal courts across the nation. Katie represents industry-leading clients in cases with significant financial and reputational harm at stake. She has experience handling all aspects of large-scale, high-stakes litigation, from early case assessment, through discovery, and on to trial or other exit strategies. In addition to playing an active role on several high-stakes trials, she has also served as national coordinating counsel in federal MDLs and state court litigation. In addition to her litigation practice, Katie also has experience conducting internal investigations.
Katie holds a J.D. from Vanderbilt Law School and her B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is admitted to practice in Georgia and Tennessee.
