Overview

Charlotte Chopping is a partner in the Financial Services Regulatory Team in Kirkland’s London office. Her experience includes advising governments, public bodies and leading financial institutions on the design, implementation and operation of financial services regulation, as well as advising on complex transactions in the financial sector.

Charlotte has particular experience in the regulation of fund management groups and advises across the full lifecycle of asset management businesses, from the establishment of new fund managers and the development of governance and compliance frameworks, through major regulatory change projects, investigations and enforcement matters, to the restructuring, sale or wind-down of asset management platforms. Charlotte also advises on the structuring, launch and marketing of private and retail funds and structured products and on the regulatory requirements governing their ongoing operation and investment activities.

Charlotte also advises extensively on financial services M&A, acting on transactions across a wealth of regulated sectors, including retail and investment banking, brokerage, fund and asset management, insurance, consumer credit, mortgage lending and corporate services.
