Overview

Lana Cohen is a litigation partner in the New York office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. She represents companies in high-stakes mass tort, product liability and commercial disputes involving complex scientific issues, significant business risk and intense public scrutiny.

Lana advises trial teams and clients on all stages of complex litigation, from pre-suit investigations and dispositive motions through trial and appeal. She develops legal and trial strategy, shapes case themes and addresses the issues most likely to influence juries and appellate courts. Her appellate background enables her to advise on strategies that advance clients’ objectives at trial while positioning cases for success on appeal. She is particularly adept at helping clients navigate matters where legal, scientific and reputational risks intersect.

Lana has represented clients in the life sciences, consumer products, telecommunications and technology industries. She has extensive experience litigating complex matters in state and federal courts and has served on trial teams that have secured favorable outcomes in some of the country’s most challenging jurisdictions.
