Andrew Current is an associate in the Washington, D.C., office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. Andrew advises clients on the full range of legal matters arising under government contracts, including mergers and acquisitions, compliance counseling and contract disputes.
Andrew represents buyers and sellers of government contractors and their business assets across the procurement value chain, covering prime contracts, subcontracts and strategic partnership, teaming and joint venture agreements. He has experience in transactions involving federal, state, local and international government contracts. He advises on the contractor-specific performance and compliance obligations that shape deal structure and negotiation, the drafting of representations and warranties, and the development of post-closing integration plans.
Andrew advises government contractors on evolving procurement and compliance requirements, including the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), cybersecurity and information security obligations, business ethics and anti-corruption programs, federal assistance and grant funding, domestic preference requirements and open records laws.
Andrew has experience directing and defending bid protests, contract claims, requests for equitable adjustment, prime/subcontractor disputes and investigations.
Andrew also brings substantial international experience to his practice, having led cross-border legal teams spanning more than 60 jurisdictions on matters involving foreign government entities and sovereign wealth funds, including transaction due diligence and risk assessment for companies expanding into new markets.
