Overview

Matthew Goulding is a corporate partner in the Bay Area office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. Matthew’s practice focuses on private equity mergers and acquisitions transactions, including leveraged buyouts of public and private targets, sale transactions, minority investments and structured financings. Matthew also represents private equity-owned companies in strategic acquisitions, as well as routine corporate and governance matters. Matthew’s representative experience includes handling transactions for Olympus Partners, K1 Investment Management, Gryphon Investors, Intermediate Capital Group, Peak Rock Capital, Pritzker Private Capital and Golden Gate Capital, as well as their portfolio companies.

Apart from his law practice, Matthew serves on the board of directors of the Youth Leadership Institute (YLI), a nonprofit organization with offices throughout California. YLI fosters youth engagement in civic action and trains non-traditional young leaders through hands-on advocacy in their communities and schools.
