Sumit Indwar is a partner in the London office of Kirkland & Ellis International LLP.
Sumit advises a wide-ranging client base, including major private equity houses, asset managers, global and regional investment banks, market makers, insurers, private wealth institutions, retail banks and FinTech companies. He advises on the full range of regulatory issues including licensing, ongoing conduct of business issues, regulatory change implementation, the regulatory aspects of transactional matters (with significant experience of supporting transactional teams on the regulatory aspects of M&A, corporate finance and banking transactions), cross-border fund distribution, governance within financial institutions, market misconduct and AML.
Sumit has regularly assisted the industry in preparing responses to regulatory consultations and assists with lobbying on issues of industry concern.
Prior to joining Kirkland, Sumit spent 20 years at Linklaters, including seven years as a partner and six years as head of its Hong Kong Financial Regulation Group.
