Leonard Kim is a corporate partner in Kirkland’s New York office and a member of the Debt Finance and Investment Funds Practice Groups. His practice focuses on fund finance, structured finance and synthetic finance and involves representing primarily private equity and private credit sponsors and their portfolio companies in a wide array of financing transactions, including in connection with secondaries transactions (e.g., continuation vehicles) and co-invest arrangements, where he advises on various liquidity/back-leverage solutions. He also works closely with Kirkland’s registered funds practice on financing and other transactional matters involving registered funds and BDCs.
He handles a broad spectrum of financing products ranging from subscription facilities to NAV/hybrid/preferred equity financings, margin loans, loan warehouses, total return swaps, repurchase facilities, employee loan programs, management company working capital facilities, GP and equity co-invest financings, rated note feeders and collateralized fund obligations.
Leonard’s clients include many of the most prominent asset managers and financial institutions around the world, including Abry, Adams Street, Apollo, Bain Capital, Benefit Street Partners, Blue Owl, Fortress, Landmark, TPG, Vista Equity Partners and 26North.
